L'Oréal Caresse Color Riche: Review (Sunset Angora and Merino Mauve)

Today I will be reviewing the L'Oréal Caresse Color Riche lipsticks in two colours: Sunset Angora and Merino Mauve.

I'll start by saying what I think about the actual product and then continue onto the colours. I have to say I really like this product! The lipstick is very creamy which feels nourishing on the lips and due to that creamy formation I personally don't need to use a lip gloss on top because it already gives a nice sheen, which for me is a bonus. They are advertised as lightweight, not sticky and non-cakey, which they deliver 100%. The variety of colours is very extensive which is great because it will suit so many people. They sell 16 different colours that varies from deep purples and reds to bubble gum pinks and corals. They are $9.99, not including tax and I know they are not available in Australia ( I bought them in USA).

The first colour I got is called Sunset Angora which is a pinky coral, as seen in the picture. This is a very easy-to-wear coral because I find most do not suit my hair colour, whereas I think this would suit a lot of people. The lasting power is not a strong point as I have to reapply every 40 mins-1 hr but I wasn't expecting it to be much simply because it is so nourishing to the lips. This colour is quite pigmented, like an average lipstick.

I like this because it's not too overpowering but you can still see it on my lips. This colour is also very shiny when applied which gives a beautiful finished look on the lips.

The next colour I got was Merino Mauve, which looks like a light pastel pink. I was a bit disappointing with the colour payoff in this product. When it is swatched, it does  looks very light and translucent but when applied on the lips I would describe it as a light bubblegum pink colour.  It is very shiny with a white sheen to it.  I was disappointed because I thought the colour would be closer to the packaging, that was naive to trust the packaging.  On that note it's a good bubblegum pink, maybe even my favourite (I say this big statement just because I own one more similar considering I hardly ever wear bubblegum pinks). The lasting power and texture is the same as Sunset Angora.

Overall, I think this Caresse Color Riche line is a great buy! Large variety of colours, good colour payoffs and nourishing your lips without suffocating at the same time. What more could you want?
